All kids will gain experience with: 

 

Developing Characters-Heroes and Heroine:

Campers will discover how to create a picture of a complete person through description, plot, and dialogue as they develop their own characters and the stories they anchor. Learn about great beginnings, sensory details, and characters who jump off the page!

 

Expository Writing:

This focuses on the preparation of prose forms used in school assignments and the process of selecting a topic, outlining the content, establishing a style, and writing mechanics [word choice, spelling, sentence structure, etc].  this is THE WRITING PROCESS.  We’ll make it fun, promise!

 

Creative Writing:

This concentrates on a variety of forms [ stories, poems, plays] with emphasis on point of view, character, setting, action or plot, and writing mechanics, as well as authentic self expression.

 

Presentation Techniques: 

This develops students’ public speaking, expression, intonation and other elements of presenting a story orally.  This will be done in a safe, no pressure environment.
